Assessment of Urban Public Green Space Services from the Perspective of the 15-Minute Living Circle
Abstract
With socioeconomic development and rising living standards, urban public services have gradually shifted from a focus on quantitative provision to a greater emphasis on service quality and refinement. However, pronounced supply-demand mismatches, outdated evaluation approaches, and insufficient quantitative precision undermine the validity of urban public green space assessments and the practicality of improvement strategies. Existing evaluation methods tend to measure service performance at a regional scale, whereas public services are primarily accessed within residents’daily activity spaces. As a result, current assessment frameworks often fail to precisely evaluate the actual service effectiveness of public green spaces. Using Tianhe District, Guangzhou, as a case study, this research develops a demand-oriented framework for evaluating urban public green space services from the perspective of the 15-minute living circle. By integrating multiple datasets and analytical methods, the study conducts a multi-indicator, multi-level assessment of urban public green space services and proposes targeted optimization strategies for different types of urban spaces.
